Here's Where You Can Watch All Of The Percy Jackson Movies - Looper

Luckily for Disney, the company gained a strong franchise in "Percy Jackson & the Olympians" when it acquired Fox. Because of the shift in ownership, both "Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief" and "Percy Jackson & the Olympians: Sea of Monsters" are currently, and for the foreseeable future, available to stream on the Disney+ service with a general membership. While this in itself is good news for fans of the "Percy Jackson" franchise, Disney announced even better news early last year — that a new TV series adaptation of the books is officially in the works.

While the original two movies put a lot of effort into creating a fun, entertaining adventure for the well-known characters, many people — Riordan included — had issue with how Percy's story was adapted. Because of this, a lot of fans have been pushing for a new remake for years now. Last May, Riordan announced that he had pitch meetings set up with Disney, and soon enough a new TV series was greenlit, with Riordan and his wife, Becky Riordan, playing a significant role in development as series creators, writers, and more (Deadline). The show is currently in the process of casting and a release date has not been announced yet.

With this good news, maybe it's time for fans of the book series to give the original two films another chance. Lerman and the rest of the cast of "The Lightning Thief" and "Sea of Monsters" put a lot of hard work and effort into the movie adaptations, and you have to admit that even with its various issues, the film series is really entertaining.
