The 10 Wildest NBA Player Tattoos - TheSportster

When people fall in love with a sport, they also tend to idolize the athletes that play that sport. That kind of idolization leads fans to try to style themselves after their favorite stars, but sometimes that's not possible thanks to their unique tattoos. For years, NBA players have been getting some of the best ink in the world of competitive sports.

Thanks to the larger-than-life personalities that come with being a world-class athlete, some NBA stars have opted to get some interesting tattoos. Some fit in with the image of a star, while others come as a bit of a surprise whether due to the star's personality or the overall design of the tattoo.

10/10 LeBron James - Chosen 1

No one should be shocked that someone like LeBron James has a few tattoos. Most megastars end up with their fair share of ink at some point. With that said, it's also fair to say that LeBron has one tattoo that is a bit wild.

His Chosen 1 tattoo is proudly displayed across the top of his back and shoulder blades. The bold writing is just one of his many pieces, but it's an equally bold statement to say that he is the chosen one. Of course, it could be debated that his tattoo is correct.

9/10 Shaquille O'Neal - Man Of Steel

The man, the myth, the legend, the Shaq. He's a personality that is larger than life, and with that also comes a few larger-than-life tattoos. Many of his tattoos are widely known, but one of his absolute best is one that pays tribute to Superman.

The classic Man Of Steel tattoo with the Superman logo probably jumps to most people's minds as soon as they think of Shaq. It's just as memorable as the big DIESEL tattoo he has just above that one on his arm.

8/10 Jeremy Lamb - Be Humble

Some NBA stars like to get tattoos as reminders of how skilled they are, but that's not the case for everyone. Some players prefer a bit more of a subtle approach to their tattoos. Surprisingly, Jeremy Lamb has one of the most humble tattoos in the league.

Rather than going for some kind of cool look, the tattoo is actually a bit bubblier than people might think. The letters look as if they're being dropped off by a bird, and are written in a bubbly font that gets the message of "be humble" across in a kind way.

7/10 John Wall - His Entire Body

Rather than picking a single tattoo that is plastered on the body of John Wall, the wild thing about his tattoos is the sheer amount of them. His upper body is absolutely covered with ink and more than a few of the pieces are of interest.

His body is very clearly a canvas, and Wall has had no issue filling it up. It's filled with faces, quotes, artwork, and even a few classic tattoo concepts. It's just wild to see someone like Wall absolutely covered with tattoos in a lot of areas that would make the toughest people squirm.

6/10 Brad Miller - Scrappy Doo

Rather than going for something that makes him come across as a bit more intimidating, Brad Miller went the complete opposite route. Instead of a flaming skull, Miller wound up getting himself a small tattoo of Scrappy Doo.

It's definitely an interesting choice for a tattoo, and the fact that it is displayed on his arm makes the choice even stranger. As long as Miller's happy with the tattoo, it's not anyone's place to judge what decisions he makes in regard to the art he puts on his body.

5/10 Kobe Bryant - Tattoo For His Wife

With how legendary Kobe Bryant is in the eyes of NBA fans, it only makes sense that his ink has become equally legendary. The story behind one of his tattoos is also a big reason for why people will always be calling Kobe the GOAT.

It might be strange that someone like Kobe got butterfly wings on his arm, but when you learn it was for his wife, it makes more sense. Especially after everything the couple had been through, the touching tribute warmed the hearts of many fans.

4/10 Al Harrington - I Do It 4 The Love

Al Harrington has the exact kind of tattoo one might expect, but it still comes across as a bit wild. His "I do it 4 the love" tattoo makes complete sense, but it also reminds fans that Harrington isn't interested in calling himself a basketball god.

Harrington has a few tattoos, but this one might be the best of them all. It's a simple message that more NBA stars should try to remember. It's not about being a major star or influencer, it's about having a love for the game and putting on some incredible performances.

3/10 Dennis Rodman - Bulls

Another player to which a fan could point to many wild tattoos is Dennis Rodman. He's gotten himself plenty of ink over the years, but one of the wildest pieces is the twin bulls that he got on his chest for the Chicago Bulls.

Usually, bull tattoos can be incredibly powerful and be among the coolest of the cool. The thing is, Rodman's come across as a bit too much, though the other tattoos filling up space may have something to do with that. It's a wild choice for sure, but Rodman likely doesn't care about anyone's input.

2/10 Gilbert Arenas - Family Tree

While everyone is bound to have different tastes in tattoos, it's probably fair to say that what Gilbert Arenas has isn't going to be for everyone. At the very least, even those that don't like can admit that the tattoos are sweet.

He got a family tree tattooed down his back featuring the faces of his two daughters and two sons. It comes with a quote, but the image is so surprising that most people probably won't even notice that it says "Family is a heaven in a heartless world" at first glance.

1/10 Chris Anderson - Wings

Every NBA fan should be aware of the wild set of wings that are blazing across Chris Anderson's arms. The image has become an iconic one thanks to just how much the pieces stand out while on the court.

The Birdman's tattoos have become a major part of who Anderson is. It's hard to not immediately spot the flashy wings as he rushes down the court. Of course, as soon as he gets some buckets, it's only a matter of time before those wings start taking off.
